Discussion. Hello so I have a BMW 330i e90 2009 n53 doesn't have heated seats or electric and would really like to put them in. I was wondering if it was plug and play or I have to do some wiring
Rear defroster has nothing to do with it in BMW (unlike Volvo) - heated mirrors are activated automatically if present. Perhaps later models can use this feature -- my E46 does not respond to them. Second, the lights on the switch come on and stay on for both seats -- first press gives three lights per seat, next press two, third press one and fourth press lights off. The lights stay on, do not flash, and do not shut off after 10 or 30 or even 90 seconds.
BMW seats with the adjuster buttons on the side have the controls built in the seat themselves so they only need a VE+ and VE- to work. Heated seats and things like massage will be controlled via a center console mounted switch, so those things do require a seperate wire to the seats to operate the function.
